10 Years in Littleton, Colorado: What a Decade of Plumbing Taught Us

On November 7, 2016, Travis Arbogast officially opened An Affordable Plumber LLC in Littleton, Colorado. Ten years and nearly three decades of hands-on experience later, we are still a local, owner-operated company, still answering the phone ourselves and still showing up to every job with a licensed master plumber. Here is a look back at what a decade of plumbing in Colorado has taught us, and a thank you to every customer who helped us get here.

1. Colorado Weather Is Hard on Plumbing

Warm afternoons followed by freezing nights are normal here, and that freeze and thaw cycle is tough on pipes. Over the last ten years, frozen hose bibs, burst pipes along exterior walls and cracked sprinkler lines have been some of our most common winter calls. The fix is usually simple: disconnect hoses in the fall, insulate exposed pipes and keep your heat on when you travel. For more tips, read our winter plumbing survival guide for Colorado homes.

2. Hard Water Shortens the Life of Water Heaters

Depending on where you live, minerals in Front Range water can build up inside tank water heaters and tankless units alike. Flushing your water heater once a year and checking the anode rod can add years to its life. When it is time to replace it, our water heater repair and installation team will walk you through tank and tankless options so you get the right fit for your home and budget.

3. Small Leaks Become Big Bills

A slow drip under a sink or a running toilet may not seem urgent, but we have seen small leaks turn into ruined cabinets, damaged floors and mold in finished basements. If you notice a higher water bill, a musty smell or a stain on the ceiling, request service before it gets worse. Here is how to spot hidden leaks in the meantime.

4. Water Pressure Matters More Than Most People Think

Many homes in the south Denver metro have pressure reducing valves that quietly wear out over time. When they fail, high pressure can damage fixtures, appliances and supply lines. A quick pressure test is one of the easiest ways to protect your plumbing.

5. Honest Pricing Builds Lasting Relationships

From day one, our goal has been simple: fair prices, clear communication and work that lasts. That is why we offer a one-year parts and labor warranty, a five-year transferable warranty on sewer line and water main replacements and 10% off (up to $100) for military, veterans and seniors. Many of our customers today are families we first met years ago, and we are grateful for every referral and review.

Thank You, Colorado

Whether we fixed your water heater, replaced your sewer line or helped your restaurant with its grease trap, thank you for trusting An Affordable Plumber over the last ten years. We are proud to serve Littleton, Highlands Ranch, Castle Rock, Lone Tree, Centennial and the surrounding communities, and we look forward to the next ten.
